K&K staff are all at least 18 years of age.

MEET THE “K&K” TEAM: K&K DANCE DREAMZ DIRECTORS

KIM MAJID (A.B.A.T.D.) & KYLA DIXON (OCT, B.A., B.Ed.)

K&K Dance Dreamz, under the co-direction of owners Kyla Dixon and Kim Majid, has earned a reputation for excellent training in a positive atmosphere where each student is given the attention they deserve.  The “K&K” team of Kim and Kyla has been recognized time and time again by the Community, Competition Directors / Adjudicators and also by parents for bringing out the best in their students.  The Directors are involved in all aspects of the studio from training the tiniest recreational beginners to the most advanced competitive students. They participate in workshops regularly and have attended the Dance Teacher Summit in N.Y.C., taking classes and seminars with well-known dance professionals. They have both also adjudicated for National Talent Competitions. Kim & Kyla are implementing their vision of establishing K&K Dance Dreamz as a one of the top dance studios in Ontario .

Kyla is not only a very experienced dance teacher but you may have see her supply teaching around York Region as she has her Bachelor of Education and is a fully accredited elementary school teacher.  Kyla has trained in dance, voice and acting at the Broadway Dance Center in New York, The York Region Conservatory of Music and at York University.  She has performed in musicals including Oliver and West Side Story and has appeared as a singer/dancer on television in national commercials.  Kyla has been recognized for her excellent training of students technically, and through her strength in Musical Theatre she has enhanced the performance quality of all dancers trained at K&K Dance Dreamz.

Kim has her Professional Dance Teacher accreditation with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (B.A.T.D.).  Her education includes training at the Broadway Dance Center in New York and the Clark Academy for Performing Arts in Buffalo. A member of the Canadian National Tap Dance Team for three years, she brought home both the Gold and Silver Medals at The World Tap Dance Championships. Kim has been acknowledged for providing superior tap training as well as outstanding choreography.  While tap is her passion Kim has achieved excellent results with students in many dance disciplines.
